Triple Yukon Solitaire takes the classic Yukon Solitaire and triples it: three decks, thirteen tableau piles, and twelve foundations instead of four. Like the original, you can move any run of tableau cards together even when it isn't built in proper sequence, which keeps a board this big from ever feeling stuck. Thomas Warfield created this scaled-up version. It's an easy game, with a 90% chance of winning, and your result comes down mostly to skill.

How to play Triple Yukon Solitaire

Layout:

12 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

13 tableau piles: Alternate color build down. Groups of cards can be moved in any order. Fill in the blanks with Kings or groupings of cards led by a King. To start, the first pile gets six cards, all dealt face-up. Each of the other twelve piles gets six face-up cards dealt on top of a run of face-down cards that grows by one as you move down the row: one face-down card in the second pile, two in the third, and so on up to twelve in the thirteenth.

Foundation:

There are twelve foundation piles.

Any Ace may be moved onto an empty foundation pile to start it.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a Q of diamonds is a K of diamonds. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Thirteen tableau piles are dealt: each gets six face-up cards, and every pile after the first also gets face-down cards beneath them, from one in the second pile up to twelve in the thirteenth.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on a 6 of clubs are the 5 of hearts and 5 of diamonds.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Only kings may fill empty spots in the tableau.

Furthermore, any face-up card in the tableau may be transferred to another tableau column where it fits, bringing all cards on top of it with it.
