Double Yukon Solitaire takes the classic Yukon Solitaire and doubles it: two decks, ten tableau piles, and eight foundations instead of four. All that extra room makes it medium difficulty with an 80% chance of winning, and your result comes down mostly to skill.

If two decks isn't enough, Triple Yukon Solitaire and Quadruple Yukon Solitaire push the same idea even further.

How to play Double Yukon Solitaire

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

10 tableau piles: Build down in alternating colors. Groups of cards can be moved together even when they're out of sequence. Only Kings (alone or leading a group of cards) may fill an empty pile. To start, the first pile gets five cards, all dealt face-up. Each of the other nine piles gets six face-up cards dealt on top of a run of face-down cards that grows by one as you move down the row: one face-down card in the second pile, two in the third, and so on up to nine in the tenth.

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a J of clubs is a Q of clubs. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Ten tableau piles of cards are dealt: the first pile gets five cards, all face-up, while each of the other nine gets six face-up cards on a growing run of face-down cards, from one in the second pile to nine in the tenth.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on a 10 of hearts are the 9 of spades and 9 of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Only kings may fill empty spots in the tableau.

Furthermore, any face-up card in the tableau may be transferred to another tableau column where it fits, bringing all cards on top of it with it.
