A two-deck Klondike game with a unique reserve pile that holds up to three Kings. That single pass through the stock is why this two-deck game is rated difficult: only about 8% of games end in a win, and skill can only stretch that one pass so far before luck decides the rest.

How to play Batsford Solitaire
Layout:
8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.
10 tableau piles: Alternate color build down. Runs of cards in sequence move together by alternating color. Only Kings, or a run led by a King, can fill an empty pile. To start the game, the first pile gets one card, the second gets two, and so on up to ten. Only the top card in each pile is dealt face-up.
Stock: Click to turn over 1 card to the waste. There are no redeals.
Waste: The top card of the waste pile is playable.
Reserve: A holding spot for Kings, up to three at a time. The top King is free to play.
Foundation:
There are eight foundation piles.
A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on the 5 of diamonds is the 6 of diamonds. A pile holds no more than 13 cards.
The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.
Reserve:
One reserve pile, which starts empty. Only a King can start it, and once one is there, only more Kings may join it, up to three.
Cards in the reserve that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation or any tableau pile.
Only Kings may fill an empty spot in the reserve.
Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences are not permitted.
Tableau:
Ten tableau piles: the first has one card, the second two, and so on up to ten. Only the top card in each pile is dealt face-up; the rest are face-down.
A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on the 4 of hearts are the 3 of spades and 3 of clubs.
Cards not covered by another card on the tableau are eligible for play on the foundation, any other tableau pile, or the reserve.
Only Kings may fill an empty spot in the tableau.
A run of cards in alternating colors, from high to low, can be moved together from one tableau pile to another.
Stock and waste:
There is one waste pile, and the rest of the deck is the stock.
Clicking the stock deals one card to the waste at a time. You get only one pass through the stock.
The top waste card can be played to the tableau, the reserve, or the foundation.
