Double Easthaven Solitaire takes Easthaven Solitaire and doubles the deck: two full decks fill eight foundations and eight tableau columns, instead of one deck spread across four foundations and seven tableaus. Each column starts with three cards, two face down and one face up, so there's some digging to do before you see what you're working with. It's a tough game, with only a 10% chance of winning, and skill counts for more than luck here.

It plays the same way as Easthaven at every step — foundations climb up in suit, the tableau builds down in alternating colors, and the stock deals straight onto the tableau instead of a waste pile — just with twice the cards to track. If eight piles still isn't enough, Triple Easthaven Solitaire triples the deck again.

How to play Double Easthaven Solitaire

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

8 tableau piles: Build down in alternating colors. Runs of cards in sequence can move down by alternating color as a group. Any card or legal sequence can fill an empty pile. At the start of the game, each pile is given three cards, two face-down and one face-up.

Stock: Click the stock to deal one card onto each tableau pile.

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

Any Ace can be moved to an empty foundation pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a Queen of hearts is a King of hearts. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Eight tableau piles of three cards each. The top card in each pile is dealt face-up, while the remaining cards are dealt face-down.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on the ten of diamonds are the nine of spades and nine of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.

A run of cards in alternating colors, high to low, can move together from one tableau column to another.

Stock:

The stock is made up of leftover cards. Click it to deal a card onto the top of each tableau pile.
