How to play Skippy

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

A foundation pile will be given a card at random. This is the starting card. Begin the remainder of the piles with cards of the same rank.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 9 of clubs is a 10 of clubs. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Cells:

Four originally empty cells

One card can be stored in each cell. Any available card can be played into any available cell. Cell cards can be played back to the tableau or the foundation.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, sixteen tableau piles of four cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower than the pile's previous top card and of any suit. As a result, the card that may be played on a nine is an eight of any suit.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation, an empty cell, or any other tableau pile.

Only high cards may be used to replace empty places in the tableau.

Stock and waste:

There is one garbage pile and the remaining cards comprise the stock.

When you click on the stock, one card from the stock is dealt to the garbage. There can only be one trip through the stock.

The top waste card is eligible for play to a cell, tableau, or foundation.
