How to play Double Gold Rush

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

10 tableau piles: Alternate color construction. If groups of cards are in sequence, move them down by alternate color. Fill in the blanks with Kings or a group of cards led by a King. To begin the game, one card is dealt to the first pile, two cards to the second, and so on. The top card is shown.

Stock: Flip over three cards to the garbage at a time by clicking during the first deal, two cards at a time during the second deal, and one card at a time during the final transaction. There are two redeals.

Waste: Top card available for play on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 4 of clubs is a 5 of clubs. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Ten tableau piles, each with one card, two cards in the second, three cards in the third, and so on. The top card in each pile is dealt face-up, while the remaining cards are dealt face-down.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower than the pile's previous top card and is of the opposing color. Thus, the cards that might be played on the ten of diamonds are nine of spades or nine of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Only kings may fill empty spots in the tableau.

If the cards are alternately red and black, groups of cards in succession from high to low can be shifted from one tableau column to another.

Stock and waste:

There is one garbage pile and the remaining cards comprise the stock.

When you click on the stock, three cards from the stock are dealt to the garbage. There are three trips through the stock allowed. The number of cards turned over at a time is lowered by one in each pass, thus in the second pass, cards are turned over two by two and one by one in the last pass. If there aren't enough cards left in the deck at the end of a pass, only the remaining cards are dealt. If another pass is made, the trash will be switched over to become fresh stock before the following transaction.

The top card of the trash can be played to the tableau or foundation.
