There's no redeal once the stock runs dry, so spend it wisely; every card left in the stock has to land on the tableau before you're done.

How to play Queenie Solitaire

Layout:

4 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

7 tableau piles: Alternate-color build down. Cards in groups can be moved in any order. Only a King, or a group of cards led by a King, can fill an empty pile. To begin the game, one card is dealt face-up to the first pile, two cards to the second pile, and so on.

Stock: Click to deal one card to each tableau pile. There are no redeals.

Foundation:

There are four foundation piles.

Any of the foundation piles may be started with an Ace.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 7 of diamonds is an 8 of diamonds.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

There are seven tableau piles, with one card in the first, two in the second, three in the third, and so on. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on a J of spades are the 10 of hearts and 10 of diamonds.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Only Kings may fill empty spots in the tableau.

Any face-up card in the tableau may also be moved to another tableau column where it fits, bringing along any cards stacked on top of it, in any order.

Stock:

The stock is made up of the leftover cards.

When you click on the stock, a card is dealt to the top of each tableau pile.
