How to play Thumb and Pouch Solitaire

Layout:

4 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

7 tableau piles: Build down in any suit except the one already there. Move a sequence of cards together the same way, as long as no two touching cards share a suit. Any card can fill an empty pile. The deal is triangular, one card in the first pile, two in the second, and so on, with only the top card of each pile face-up.

Stock: Click to flip 1 card at a time to the waste. There are no redeals.

Waste: Top card available for play on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are four foundation piles.

Any ace on a foundation may be moved back to an empty tableau pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a jack of clubs is a queen of clubs.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

There are seven tableau piles, with one card in the first, two in the second, three in the third, and so on. The top card of each pile is dealt face-up, and the rest are dealt face-down.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and a different suit than the pile's current top card, so the cards that fit on a 7 of clubs are any 6 except the 6 of clubs: the 6 of spades, 6 of hearts, or 6 of diamonds.

Cards on the tableau that aren't covered by another card are free to move to the foundation or another tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty tableau slot.

Groups of cards in sequence from high to low can move together from one tableau pile to another, as long as no two touching cards in the group share a suit.

Stock and waste:

There's one waste pile, and the rest of the cards make up the stock.

Click the stock to deal one card to the waste. You get a single pass through the stock, no redeals.

The top card of the waste can be played to the tableau or foundation.
