How to play Cassim

Layout:

4 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit. The Aces are dealt on this pile at the start of the game.

7 tableau piles: Build down in the same suit with 7 tableau piles. Cards in descending order down in suit may be moved as a group. Any card can be used to fill a space. At the start of the game, each pile is given four cards.

Stock: Click to turn over 1 card at a time to the garbage. Redeals are unlimited.

Waste: The top card can be played on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are four foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 4 of clubs is a 5 of clubs.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, seven tableau piles of four cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower and of the same suit as the original top card of the pile. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 9 of diamonds is an 8 of diamonds.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.

If all cards are of the same suit, groups of cards in succession from high to low may be moved from one tableau column to another.

Stock and waste:

There is one garbage pile and the remaining cards comprise the stock.

When you click on the stock, one card from the stock is dealt to the garbage. The stock may be passed through an unlimited number of times.

The top card of the trash can be played to the tableau or foundation.
