Claim one of only two cells instead of FreeCell's four, and feel every choice cost more. Everything else, eight piles, four foundations, plays just like the original.

A FreeCell variant with only two cells instead of four, which makes every cell you use a bigger commitment. Everything else runs like classic FreeCell: eight tableau piles, build down in alternating colors, and get all 52 cards home to four foundations.
Since this one builds on classic card-game moves, the original Solitaire is a natural detour if you want the simpler version.

Have fun playing!
There are four foundation piles.
Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.
A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a J of hearts is a Q of hearts.
The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.
Two cells, both empty at the start.
One card can be stored in each cell. Any available card can be played into any available cell. Cell cards can be played back to the tableau or the foundation.
There are eight tableau piles: the first four hold seven cards each, and the next four hold six cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.
A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on a 7 of spades are the 6 of hearts and 6 of diamonds.
Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation, an empty cell, or any other tableau pile.
Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.
