How to play Golf

Layout:

7 tableau piles: There are 7 tableau piles but no building. On the garbage pile, the top card of each pile is ready for play. At the start of the game, each pile is given 5 cards face-up.

Stock: Turn over 1 card to the garbage by clicking on the stock.

Waste: Build up or down in any suit, regardless of suitability. There can be no wraparound, just Twos on Aces, and nothing on a King.

Foundation:

There is one foundation pile.

A card may be added to the foundation pile if it is one higher or one lower than the pile's previous top card and of any suit. As a result, the cards that might be played on 9 are 8 or 10. Because you are not allowed to wrap on the foundation, you cannot play an ace on a king or a king on an ace.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, seven tableau piles of five cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.

On the tableau, no construction is authorized.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation.

The tableau's empty spaces may not be filled.

Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences are not permitted.

Stock:

The stock is made up of leftover cards.

When you click on the stock, a card is dealt to the top of the foundation pile.
