Play Preference Solitaire Online for Free (No Signup Required)

Preference trims Fortune's Favor down to fewer tableau piles, so luck does most of the work here, backed by an easy 80% win rate. Preference Game Layout

Preference Solitaire is a slightly harder cousin of Fortune's Favor Solitaire, with fewer tableau piles to work with. It's an easy game, with an 80% chance of winning. You play it with a single deck, and luck does most of the work here.

It also plays a lot like The Bold.

If you enjoy Preference, you should also try Spider Solitaire, a classic solitaire card game.

How to play Preference Solitaire

Layout:

4 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit. The Aces are dealt at the start of the game.

8 tableau piles: Build down in the same suit. Each pile's top card is ready for play, and empty spots are refilled automatically from the waste or stock. At the start of the game, each pile gets one card face-up.

Stock: Click to deal 1 card to the waste at a time. There are no redeals.

Waste: The top card can be played on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are four foundation piles, and each one starts with an Ace.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 5 of spades is a 6 of spades.

The top card of each foundation pile can move back into play if another pile will take it.

Tableau:

Eight tableau piles, each dealt one card face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 6 of hearts is a 5 of hearts.

Any tableau card not covered by another card is free to play onto the foundation or another tableau pile.

An empty tableau spot is filled right away with a card from the waste. If the waste is empty, a card comes from the stock instead. If the stock is empty too, any card can fill the spot.

Only one card moves at a time; you can't move a sequence as a group.

Stock and waste:

There's one waste pile; the rest of the cards make up the stock.

Clicking the stock deals one card to the waste. You only get one pass through the stock.

The top card of the waste can be played to the tableau or foundation.
