Plays just like Waning Moon, except you can drag whole same-suit runs instead of moving one card at a time. One pass through the stock, no second chances. Lucas Leaps Game Layout

Lucas Leaps Solitaire plays exactly like Waning Moon Solitaire — two decks, eight foundations, and thirteen tableau piles of four cards, with a single pass through the stock — except for one loosened rule: you can move a run of same-suit cards as a group instead of dragging them one at a time.

"Lucas" is the name for a small family of Forty Thieves style games. I call this one "Lucas Leaps" to set it apart from the more common versions in the family that only allow single-card moves.

If you enjoy Lucas Leaps, try Forty Thieves Solitaire, the classic game this whole family is built on.

How to play Lucas Leaps Solitaire

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 9 of diamonds is a 10 of diamonds. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Thirteen tableau piles of four cards each, all dealt face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 4 of spades is a 3 of spades.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.

As long as every card in a run is the same suit, the whole group can be moved from one tableau column to another.

Stock and waste:

There is one waste pile, and the remaining cards make up the stock.

Click the stock to deal one card to the waste pile. You only get one pass through the stock.

The top card of the waste pile can be played to the tableau or a foundation.
