Huge Spider spreads four full decks, 208 cards, across twenty tableau columns, and won't deal from the stock until every column holds cards. Huge Spider Game Layout

Huge Spider Solitaire takes the familiar Spider formula and blows it up to four full decks, spreading 208 cards across twenty tableau columns. It is the largest member of the Spider family you are likely to meet, and it rewards patience far more than speed. Because every card is in play at once, you spend the opening moves reading the whole board rather than racing to the foundations.

The goal is unchanged from ordinary Spider: assemble sixteen complete King-to-Ace runs in a single suit and slide each finished run off the tableau. You may build a card of any suit onto a card one rank higher, but only a run of matching suit travels as a unit. This is what makes the four-deck version a real thinking game — untangling mixed columns into clean suited sequences is the whole puzzle.

With one hundred cards waiting in the stock and just a single deal through it, resources are generous but never wasted. The stock refuses to deal while any column sits empty, so keeping a spare space open is a costly luxury rather than a free move. Skilled players treat those five stock rows as five precious lifelines.

If you like the extra breathing room of a bigger board without going quite this large, try Big Spider Solitaire, which uses three decks. For the classic Spider experience the whole family grew from, Spider Solitaire is the place to start.

How to play Huge Spider Solitaire

Layout:

16 foundation piles: Each foundation holds one complete King-to-Ace run of a single suit. Only a fully ordered same-suit sequence may be sent here, and it moves as a whole.

20 tableau piles: Build down regardless of suit. Eight piles are dealt six cards each and twelve piles are dealt five cards each; in every pile the top card is face-up and the rest are face-down.

Stock: Click to deal one card to every tableau pile at once. There is only one pass through the stock, and no waste pile.

Foundation:

There are sixteen foundation piles, one for each complete suited run the four decks can produce.

A run is only removed once it is fully ordered from King down to Ace in one suit inside a tableau column. When that happens the whole run lifts off to a foundation.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Twenty tableau piles hold the opening deal. Eight columns receive six cards and the remaining twelve receive five, with only the top card of each column face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower than the pile's current top card, and suit doesn't matter for a single card. However, a group of cards can only be lifted and moved together when it forms a descending run of the same suit.

When you clear the exposed card from a pile, the face-down card beneath it turns face-up automatically. Any card or valid suited run may be placed onto an empty column.

Only same-suit runs move as a unit; mixed sequences must be relocated one card at a time.

Stock and waste:

The stock holds the remaining one hundred cards after the deal.

When you click the stock, one card is dealt face-up to each of the twenty tableau piles. The stock will not deal if any column is empty, so fill your empty spaces first. There is only one pass through the stock and there is no waste pile.
