Double Aces and Kings quadruples the deck to 208 cards, sorting them onto sixteen foundations that climb from aces and drop from kings, with no tableau building allowed.

Thomas Warfield created Double Aces and Kings Solitaire as a four-deck expansion of his original Aces and Kings. All 208 cards get sorted into two sets of eight foundation piles (one built up from aces, one built down from kings) plus four reserve piles and eight single-card tableau spots, with no building allowed on the tableau at all.

Aces and Kings Solitaire is the game this one expands on, and Deuces and Queens Solitaire is a sibling variant that allows tableau building, which this game doesn't.

How to play Double Aces and Kings Solitaire

Foundation:

Foundation piles are classified into two types.

The Ace Foundation

The ace foundation has eight piles, all starting empty. Any ace can start a new pile. A card of any suit can be added if it's one rank higher than the pile's current top card, so the only card that can be played on a Jack is a Queen. Each pile holds up to 13 cards.

The King Foundation

The king foundation also has eight piles, all starting empty. Any king can start a new pile. A card of any suit can be added if it's one rank lower than the pile's current top card, so the only card that can be played on an 8 is a 7. Each pile holds up to 13 cards.

Cards may be removed from any foundation.

Reserve:

There are four reserve piles, each dealt thirteen cards face-up at the start. Nothing can be moved into the reserves. Each reserve's top card can be played onto an empty tableau pile or the foundation.

Tableau:

There are eight tableau piles of one card each. Every card is dealt face-up.

No building is allowed on the tableau at all.

An exposed tableau card can be played onto the foundation or an empty tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty tableau spot.

Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences are not permitted.

Stock and waste:

There's one waste pile, and the remaining 148 cards make up the stock.

Click the stock to deal one card to the waste. You get only one pass through the stock.

The top waste card can be played onto an empty tableau pile or the foundation.
