Sort two decks into eight foundations: four climb up from a deuce, four climb down from a queen, each wrapping to hold all 13 ranks. Full runs move on the tableau.

Deuces and Queens Solitaire takes the two-way foundation setup from Aces and Kings and loosens it up: here you're allowed to build sequences right on the tableau instead of moving one card at a time. Two decks get dealt across three reserve piles of thirteen cards each and four single-card tableau spots, and from there you sort all 104 cards into eight foundation piles: four start with a deuce and build upward regardless of suit, four start with a queen and build downward regardless of suit, and each pile wraps around once to end up holding all 13 ranks.

How to play Deuces and Queens Solitaire

Foundation:

Foundation piles are classified into two types.

The Ace Foundation

The ace foundation has four piles, all starting empty. A deuce (2) can start a new pile, and a card of any suit can be added if it's one rank higher than the pile's current top card. The sequence wraps from King back to Ace, so the only card that fits on a King is an Ace. Each pile holds up to 13 cards.

The King Foundation

The king foundation also has four piles, all starting empty. Only a queen can start a new pile, and a card of any suit can be added if it's one rank lower than the pile's current top card. The sequence wraps from Ace down to King, so the only card that fits on an Ace is a King. Each pile holds up to 13 cards.

Cards may be removed from any foundation.

Reserve:

There are three reserve piles, each dealt thirteen cards face-up at the start. Nothing can be moved into the reserves. Each reserve's top card can be played onto any non-empty tableau pile or foundation.

Tableau:

There are four tableau piles, each dealt one card face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank higher or lower than the pile's current top card, regardless of suit, so the only cards that fit on a 5 are a 4 or a 6.

Any tableau card that isn't covered by another card can be played onto a foundation or any other non-empty tableau pile.

Empty tableau spots may not be filled.

Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences can't be moved as a group.

Stock and waste:

There's one waste pile, and the remaining 61 cards make up the stock.

Click the stock to deal one card to the waste. You get only one pass through the stock, so use your waste cards wisely.

The top waste card can be played onto any non-empty tableau pile or foundation.
