How to play Blockade Solitaire

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

12 tableau piles: Built down in suit, one card at a time. A same-suit run of cards in sequence can be moved together as a group. Empty piles refill automatically from the stock; once the stock runs out, any card can fill an empty spot. Each pile starts with a single face-up card.

Stock: Click the stock to deal one card onto each tableau pile. There are no redeals.

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles, one for each suit across the two decks.

An ace may be moved onto any empty foundation pile to start it.

A card can join a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher than the pile's current top card and matches its suit — so the only card that can follow the jack of spades is the queen of spades. Each pile holds at most 13 cards, Ace to King.

You can move a foundation's top card back onto the tableau if another pile will take it.

Tableau:

Twelve tableau piles, each dealt a single face-up card to start.

A card can join a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower than the pile's current top card and matches its suit — so the only card that can follow the 7 of spades is the 6 of spades.

Any tableau card that isn't covered by another card is free to move, onto the foundation or another tableau pile.

Empty tableau spots refill immediately from the stock. Once the stock is empty, any card can fill an empty spot.

A same-suit run of cards in sequence can also be moved together from one tableau pile to another.

Stock:

The stock holds whatever cards are left after the deal.

Click the stock to deal one card onto the top of each tableau pile.
