How to play Yakutat Bay

Foundation:

There are four foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 4 of spades is a 5 of spades.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Seven tableau piles of cards are stacked as follows, where "D" represents a face-down card and "U" represents a face-up card:

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower than the pile's previous top card and is of the opposing color. As a result, the cards that may be played on the J of hearts would be the 10 of spades or the 10 of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Empty tableau spots are immediately filled with a card from the undefined. If the undefined is empty, then only kings may fill vacant spots in the tableau.

Furthermore, any face-up card in the tableau may be transferred to another tableau column where it fits, bringing all cards on top of it with it.
