How to play The Wish

Layout:

8 tableau piles: Pairs of cards of the same rank are discarded. Each pile's top card is accessible. At the start of the game, each pile is dealt four cards, with just the top card facing up.

Waste: Where paired cards are removed from play.

Foundation:

There is just one foundation pile on which deleted cards are arranged.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, eight tableau piles of four cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.

On the tableau, no construction is authorized.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are playable.

The tableau's empty spaces may not be filled.

Notes:

The Wish employs a truncated deck of 32 cards, with the 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, and 6's eliminated.
