How to play Lanes

Layout:

4 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit. The Aces are dealt on these piles at the start of the game.

6 tableau piles: Alternate color build down. Only one card can be moved at a time. Any card can be used to fill a space. At the start of the game, each pile is given three cards face-up.

Stock: Click to turn over 1 card at a time to the garbage. One more transaction.

Waste: The top card can be played on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are four foundation piles.

Each foundation pile is handed an ace at the start.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 10 of spades is a J of spades.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, six tableau piles of three cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower than the pile's previous top card and is of the opposing color. As a result, the cards that may be played on the 9 of hearts would be the 8 of spades or the 8 of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.

Stock and waste:

There is one garbage pile and the remaining cards comprise the stock.

When you click on the stock, one card from the stock is dealt to the garbage. There can only be one trip through the stock.

The top card of the trash can be played to the tableau or foundation.
