How to play Four Leaf Clovers

Layout:

1 foundation pile: Build up from Ace to King, regardless of suit, wrapping from King to Ace until the pile contains all 52 cards.

13 tableau piles: Construct up or down regardless of suit, wrapping from King to Ace or Ace to King as needed. Only one card can be moved at a time. There are no empty spaces. At the start of the game, each pile is given four cards.

Foundation:

There is one foundation pile.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

If a card is one higher than the former top card of the pile and of any suit, it may be added to the foundation pile. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 5 is a 6. You can wrap the foundation to play an ace on a king. You may resume with another ace once the entire sequence has been formed on a pile.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, thirteen tableau piles of four cards each. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one higher or one lower than the pile's previous top card and of any suit. As a result, the cards that might be played on 6 are 5 or 7. In the tableau, you may also play kings on aces.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation or any non-empty tableau pile.

The tableau's empty spaces may not be filled.

Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences are not permitted.
