Fill sixteen columns from four decks, move cards one at a time, and get just one pass through the stock: medium difficulty, an 85% win rate. Double Limited Game Layout

Limited plays with two decks and twelve columns; Double Limited Solitaire scales that up to four decks and sixteen columns, so you'll want a big screen for this one. Only single cards move, and there's just one pass through the stock. The game is medium in difficulty, with an 85% chance of winning, and skill matters more than luck.

Limited Solitaire and Forty Thieves Solitaire are the closest relatives; both build the same one-suit sequences, just with fewer decks and cards to track.

Once you're done wrangling sixteen columns, the classic Solitaire is a natural next stop.

How to play Double Limited Solitaire

Layout:

16 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

16 tableau piles: Build down in suit. Only single cards move. Fill empty piles with any card. Each pile is dealt three cards face-up at the start.

Stock: Click to deal one card at a time to the waste pile. There are no redeals.

Waste: Top card is always available for play on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are sixteen foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on an 8 of spades is a 9 of spades. Each pile holds at most 13 cards.

The top card of a foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Sixteen tableau piles, each dealt three cards face-up and fanned so you can see all three.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 9 of diamonds is an 8 of diamonds.

Cards on the tableau that aren't covered by another card are free to move to the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty tableau pile.

Only one card moves at a time; sequences can't be moved as a group.

Stock and waste:

There is one waste pile, and the remaining cards form the stock.

Clicking the stock deals one card to the waste. There's only one run through the stock, with no redeals.

The top card of the waste can be played to the tableau or foundation.
