Lady Jane Solitaire mixes Spider and Klondike into a two-deck game. Double Jane Solitaire plays the same mix with four decks instead of two, so you get sixteen foundations and thirteen tableau columns to work with. The game is simple, with a 90% chance of winning, and skill decides most deals more than luck does.

It plays closest to Arabella Solitaire, which deals the same thirteen columns from three decks rather than four.

You already know Spider Solitaire; it's still there when you want the original back.

How to play Double Jane Solitaire

Layout:

16 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

13 tableau piles: Build down regardless of suit. A sequenced group of cards can only move together if every card in it is the same suit. Fill empty piles with a King, or a run of cards led by a King. The deal is a standard fan, one card to the first pile, two to the second, and so on, all dealt face-up.

Stock: Click to deal one card at a time to the waste pile. There are no redeals.

Waste: Top card is always available for play on the foundations or tableau.

Foundation:

There are sixteen foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 4 of spades is a 5 of spades. Each pile holds at most 13 cards.

The top card of a foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Thirteen tableau piles, dealt one card to the first pile, two to the second, three to the third, and so on. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower than the pile's current top card, regardless of suit, so any Jack fits on any Queen.

Cards on the tableau that aren't covered by another card are free to move to the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Only Kings may fill an empty tableau pile.

A sequence of cards can move together from one tableau pile to another only if every card in it is the same suit.

Stock and waste:

There is one waste pile, and the remaining cards form the stock.

Clicking the stock deals one card to the waste. There are no redeals, just the one run through the stock.

The top card of the waste can be played to the tableau or foundation.
