How to play Box Kite

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Construct the top four down in suit from King to Ace and the bottom four up in suit from Ace to King. An Ace and King of each suit are dealt here at the start of the game.

12 tableau piles: Construct up or down regardless of suit, wrapping as needed from Ace to King or King to Ace. The top card can be used on the foundations or another tableau pile. Only one card can be moved at a time. Empty piles do not get filled. At the start of the game, each pile is dealt 8 cards face-up.

Foundation:

Foundation piles are classified into two types.

Fundament A:

Foundation A has four piles, and each foundation is given an ace at the start. A pile. A card can be layered on top of a foundation. A pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and of the same suit. As a result, the only card that could be played on a 6 of hearts is a 7 of hearts. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

B Foundation:

Foundation B has four piles, and each pile is given a king at the start. A card may be added to a foundation B pile if it is one lower than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 5 of diamonds is a 4 of diamonds. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

Cards cannot be removed from any foundation once they have been placed on it.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, twelve tableau piles of eight cards each. The top card in each pile is dealt face-up, while the remaining cards are dealt face-down.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one higher or one lower than the pile's previous top card and of any suit. As a result, the only cards that might be played on a jack are a ten or a queen of any suit. In the tableau, you may also play kings on aces.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation or any non-empty tableau pile.

The tableau's empty spaces may not be filled.

Only one card may be moved at a time; sequences are not permitted.
