How to play Milligan Cell

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

8 tableau piles: Alternate color build down. If a group of cards is in sequence down by alternate colors, they can be moved. Empty piles can be filled by a King or a valid collection of cards led by a King. At the start of the game, each pile is dealt one card face-up.

Stock: By clicking, the Stockdeals one card to each tableau pile. There are no redeals.

4 cells: Card storage locations. Each cell can only have one card. The card can be played on the foundations or the tableau.

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 5 of clubs is a 6 of clubs. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Cells:

Four originally empty cells

One card can be stored in each cell. Any available card can be played into any available cell. Cell cards can be played back to the tableau or the foundation.

Tableau:

Splayed downhill, eight tableau piles of one card each. Every card is dealt face-up.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower than the pile's previous top card and is of the opposing color. As a result, the cards that might be played on the J of spades are 10 of hearts or 10 of diamonds.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation, an empty cell, or any other tableau pile.

Only kings may fill empty spots in the tableau.

If the cards are alternately red and black, groups of cards in succession from high to low can be shifted from one tableau column to another.

Stock:

The stock is made up of leftover cards.

When you click on the stock, a card is dealt to the top of each tableau pile.
