Build every foundation and tableau by twos instead of ones, wrapping past the Ace as you go, in a single-deck game with a 98% win rate. Double Dot Game Layout

Double Dot Solitaire builds everything in steps of two instead of one. Four foundations climb by twos: two start on an Ace, two start on a Two, and each one wraps once it tops out. An Ace pile runs Ace, Three, Five, Seven, Nine, Jack, King, then keeps going with Two, Four, Six, Eight, Ten, Queen before landing back on Ace, so it ends up holding an entire suit. Eight tableau columns count down by twos in the opposite direction, also wrapping past the Ace so a Queen can land there too. It's played with a single deck and is a simple game, with a 98% chance of winning; skill and luck both play a part.

Double Dot moves in twos; the classic Solitaire is looser and faster.

How to play Double Dot Solitaire

Layout:

4 foundation piles: Build up by twos in the same suit, wrapping past the top rank so each pile eventually fills with a complete suit of thirteen cards. The first two piles begin with Aces, and the next two begin with Twos. At the start of the game, two Aces and two Twos, each pair a different color, are dealt onto these piles.

8 tableau piles: Build down by twos regardless of suit, wrapping as needed — a 6 can, for example, be played on an 8, or a Queen on an Ace. Move sequences of cards running down by two, regardless of suit. Any card can fill an empty pile. At the start of the game, each pile is dealt one card face-up.

Stock: Click the stock to deal one card to each tableau pile. There are no redeals.

Foundation:

There are two kinds of foundation pile, and both work the same way in the end: each fills with a complete, thirteen-card suit.

The two Ace piles each start with an Ace. A card can be added only if it's two ranks higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on an 8 of clubs is a 10 of clubs. After the King, the pile keeps climbing: Two, Four, Six, Eight, Ten, Queen, then back to Ace.

The two Two piles each start with a Two. A card can be added only if it's two ranks higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 7 of clubs is a 9 of clubs. After the Queen, the pile wraps too: Ace, Three, Five, Seven, Nine, Jack, King, then back to Two.

The top card of a foundation pile can be moved back into the tableau if another pile will accept it.

Tableau:

Eight tableau piles of one card each, every card dealt face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's two ranks lower than the pile's current top card, regardless of suit, wrapping past the Ace as needed — so the only card that fits on an eight is a six, and a Queen fits on an Ace.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.

Groups of cards in sequence, down by two, may be moved from one tableau column to another regardless of suit.
