How to play Robie

Layout:

8 foundation piles: Build up from Ace to King in the same suit.

10 tableau piles: Built down in suit. Only one card can be moved at a time. Any card can be used to fill a space. All piles are empty at the start.

Stock: Click to turn over 1 card at a time to the garbage. There are no redeals.

Waste: The top card can be played on the foundations or tableau. All of the waste cards are visible.

Foundation:

There are eight foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card may be added to a foundation pile if it is one higher than the pile's previous top card and is of the same suit. As a result, the only card that might be played on a 4 of diamonds is a 5 of diamonds. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

Cards cannot be taken from the foundation after they have been placed.

Tableau:

Ten tableau piles, all of which are originally empty.

A card may be added to a tableau pile if it is one lower and of the same suit as the original top card of the pile. As a result, the only card that could be played on a 9 of clubs is an 8 of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card are free to be played onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.

Stock and waste:

The stock is made up of the complete deck, and there is just one garbage pile.

When you click on the stock, one card from the stock is dealt to the garbage. There can only be one trip through the stock.

The top card of the trash can be played to the tableau or foundation.
