Play 200 New Solitaire Variations

Four years ago, we added 313 new solitaire variations to the site in one go, and I honestly thought that would keep everyone busy for a while. Apparently it did — but we didn't sit still either. Today I'm happy to announce the next big batch: 200 new solitaire games, bringing the collection to more than 500 free games. And this time, the games themselves aren't even the biggest news.

Here's the short version:

  • 200 new variations — including famous names like Tri Peaks, Monte Carlo, and La Belle Lucie
  • Every game rebuilt on our own engine: faster loading, smoother cards, better on phones
  • Every description rewritten and properly translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese
  • redesigned All games page with filters, and a fresh screenshot for every game

Eight games to start with

Some of the new arrivals are games people have been asking about for years:

And that's just the start. There are spider variants stacked all the way up to Huge Spider with its 104 cards, FreeCell cousins in every size, and plenty of strange little games you've probably never heard of but might end up loving. My current favorite rabbit hole is Penelope's Web — don't say I didn't warn you.

Every game is faster now

The bigger news is under the hood. Until now, many of the variation games ran in an embedded player — it worked, but you could feel the seams. Over the past months we've rebuilt every single game natively on the site, on the same engine that powers classic SolitaireSpider, and FreeCell.

What that means for you:

  • Faster loading — games start right away instead of loading a player first
  • Smoother animations — cards that glide, snap, and flip like they should
  • Proper drag and drop on your phone — no more fighting your thumb
  • The same features everywhere — hints, unlimited undo, winnable deals, and the daily challenge work identically in all 500+ games

Rewritten, translated, and easier to browse

While we were in there, we rewrote every game's description and rules from scratch and checked them against how the games actually play — no more rules text that almost matches the game. Everything is also properly translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese, so the site reads like it was written in your language, because now it was.

Finding your next game is easier too: the All games page got a redesign with filter chips, so you can browse by family — Klondike-likes, Spiders, FreeCells, pairing games — instead of scrolling one giant list.

Go play

To see everything, head to the games section. And if you find something odd or have an idea that would make the games better, write me at contact@online-solitaire.com — I read everything.

Have fun, and stay sharp!
